This residence was designed around the Client’s brief to have a home that would be comfortable and well designed, but would also provide for the needs that one would require later on in life.
All doorways and passages were designed wider than the standard sizes to accommodate the free movement of a wheelchair if the need arose.
Similarly the bathrooms were designed to assist with the daily tasks of a person with disabilities.
A curved feature wall and staircase invite one in on arrival at the front door. These curved elements are juxtaposed with linear framed forms to create a playful balance between organic and structured spaces.
